No. 195 – Trial Separation

I’ve been on the fence about my current relationship, and I think it’s time for a trial separation. It’s not that I’m terribly unhappy, but I just think I could do a little better. You’ve seen the writing on the wall, so there shouldn’t be any mouths agape out there. Maybe I won’t be happy and I will want to come back to what I’m accustomed to, but right now I need to know if there’s something better. In fact, I’ve had something in the wings now for the past week and I have been dying to tell you all about it.

I told Mr. DD this weekend. He just shrugged his shoulders and went back to watching TV.

Oh, and I want you all to be a part of it. Really! I want to thank Beth at Prop Your Hips Up who really inspired me to take the leap.

…and in case you were worried, it’s not my husband I’m leaving; it’s Blogger. I have set up a fun-factory over at typepad and will see what I think at the end of the trial month. Now, for your viewing and reading pleasure (I use the word "pleasure" loosely), stop by tko.typepad.com and let me know what you think. I’m already digging the much shorter URL address! And be honest, dammit. I’m not going to spend what I can on mochas in a month for a site you think sucks. I need my caffeine!

  1. I like the typepad better. I don’t know why – it just seems fresher, maybe? Haha! I’ve been lurking for a while. My great-grandmother and grandmother both suffered from issues with fertility; both my mother and grandmother are only children. Reading your blog puts into words what they otherwise haven’t told me. I worry that I’ll have issues with fertility [no idea why, my mother has 4 children with only 1 miscarriage], but it’s websites like this and the communities they create that I realize no matter what I suffer, someone will be there with an understanding shoulder to cry on, so to speak.

  2. Commenting again only to make sure you know I think you’re a shithead for pulling that stumt.

I fall for it every time. . .

  3. You’re da bomb in these new digs.

    Can’t wait for the punch.

  4. Love the look… but that wasn’t nice I thought you were talking about the hubby! :)

I will read where ever end up! Take care.

  5. Welcome to your new digs. Very chic. I hope you decide to stay, it’s a lot easier to comment on typepad.

  6. Nice! Suits you madam.

  7. I like it! New digs are goooood.

  8. I don’t really have a preference… what do you like about TP / dislike about blogger?

  9. Nice!

Can’t believe you nearly had me in tears over dumping blogger.

  10. Yeah, you freaked me the hell out. I was all, “HOW CAN YOUR HUSBAND BE SO APATHETIC? WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO YOUR SON?”

    You naughty, naughty girl.

  11. ahhh the allure of Typepad, I remember it well. Suits you girl.

  12. Damn it, I’m gullible. I fell for it too.

  13. Like the look, (as well I should, since I use the same template.) How can typepad possibly be your latte budget for the month? Its only $50/year- you mean to tell me you only by 1 latte a month? Your good, girl.

    What’s TKO?

  14. Love the new site! I actually started a month trial with Typepad too, but I am too computer illiterate to actually get everything transferred over, so I am stalled at Blogger for now, but I may join you.

  15. Lurve it… and the new name!

  16. Should I change your URL in my blogroll, or it is too early to tell?

  17. I like the new shiny look! Although I gotta tell you — I think wordpress beats typepad every time. (Way more options there!)

  18. Now I see why you weren’t playing. You were busy getting a new look!

  19. Lots of questions and I promise I have answes for most. The others I will just bullshit my way through as that is what I’m best at.

However, I will be out of town this weekend, and no, not for a vacation, per se. And as I’ve spent a good portion of my day on-line while I should really be working is not making my day very productive.

  20. I’m liking the new look quite a little bit. I may have to leave my significant other and follow you!

  21. I’m neutral – both are cool. But seriously not nice making it sound like you were leaving hubby!

  22. Okay, I take it back…I don’t like this new one as well because the security letters you have to read are a b*tch to decipher! But we’ll follow you anywhere :)

  23. …testing, because I’m a dumbass…

    and a shit…

    and a whore…

    and a beeotch…

    God..I love you people!

  24. you got me too. shocker.

I say leave ‘em and stick with typepad. The wider screen area is nice too.

    cheerio.

  25. This was a classic post and it made me love you even more for sharing my snarky sense of humor – off to update my TypePad list!

  26. Dear DD, ooooooh yes, stay here! This site is muuuuuch nicer.

You kinda had me going “gulp” too. We love Mr. DD!

  27. If you’re happier here then by all means go for it . . . I’ll read wherever you post.

    But giving up those coffee delights . . . I don’t know!

  28. Well, ain’t you the fancy one.

    You scared me at first!

  29. I’m so glad to read that I’m not the only one you fooled! But I love the new site!

  30. I was thinking of moving to typepad, but didn’t, for some of these issues.

I got spam on my Blogger account within minutes of starting it, so I use the word verification thing.
